If you’ve ever talked with me you know how passionate I am about working with and promoting Indie authors – you inspire me! Every. Single. Day. It’s so rewarding being able to do what I love, and work with such fabulous, gifted authors.  Each one of you leave a mark on my personal journey by sharing your incredible talent.  That said, I want to share something with you – a thinly veiled secret, if you will. It is, quite simply:

Entering our awards program is the most cost-effective way to promote your book with Reader Views!

I get so excited about our awards program and what it offers that I wanted to share that tidbit with you all, even at the risk of sounding like I am pitching – I’m not! I have done research on it and found that after all these years and with all the new awards programs popping up every day, the Reader Views Literary Awards for indies is still the best in terms of credibility, prices and value. We publicize each entry whether contestants win or not. SERIOUSLY! In fact, all awards submissions receive the following with each entry:

  • Book Review – Each title will receive a book review. The review will be posted on our websites, either or They will also be posted on the Thoughtcrawlers blog and the Reader Views Book Review blog.  Authors will also receive a PDF copy of the review for promotional use.
  • Social Media Postings – Review will be shared and promoted on our Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram pages. Be sure to follow us on social media so you can share the news we post about your books with your followers and double the exposure! We also post your review on Goodreads and Barnes & Noble if your book is listed with these organizations.
  • News – Review will be featured on the Recent Reviews dedicated page of These reviews are rotated on a weekly basis.

All that said, there are also a few guidelines I recommend:

  • DO NOT wait until the deadline to enter your book unless your book comes out right before the submission deadline. This gives our reviewers and judges ample time to read, review and “score” your book, based on the criteria found in my article: What Exactly goes into Judging a Literary Awards Competition? It just makes sense to get a book to them before they have piles of books to read, possibly in your same category.
  • By no means should ARCs be sent to a contest, even if sending early.  The books sent should be the final product, as they are subject to judging with the intent to score a placement. Although advanced copies are great to send to reviewers, they are not the best idea when sending to a Literary Awards.
  • Finally, All entries must be post-marked by December 31, 2019. With so many intriguing titles being submitted in all categories this year, the anticipation is already building!
